At East Coast Horseshoeing School, we will pass our 25 years’ experience on to our students. The instructor, Joey White, is a second-generation farrier. His dad, Bobby White, completed school at Oklahoma in 1966. After moving to Delaware Bobby became very successful shoeing standardbred race horses. Joey was around the business his entire life.
In 1997 he decided he wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps and attended school under Danny Ward at Eastern School of Farriery. He has shod Olympian dressage horses, rodeo horses, and record-breaking race horses.
Jay Moya is a new instructor on our team. He comes from Colorado, bringing 27 years experience with a successful farrier business, with an expertise to the reining horse. Jay's disciplines also include jumping and western pleasure horses, as well as performance horses such as ropers, barrels, cutters, gymkhana, halter and the working cow horse.
Jay was one of the house farriers at 2023 National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado. In 2022 Jay shod the Freestyle champion for Schwartzenberger Equine. When he was the house farrier for RMRHA Summer Slide Jay shod many champions.
Not only is Jay an experienced farrier, he is also an accomplished blacksmith. He has competed in several Four Corners competitions in Castle Rock, Colorado which included forging and live shoeing all for the draft horses where his team won 1st place in the speciman shoe category.
Jay's goal is to pass along the knowledge of a skilled farrier to the next generation and to keep this valuable practice alive and thriving. That's what makes Jay a valuable asset to East Coast Horseshoeing School.
Joey White
Farrier
The instructor, Joey White, is a second-generation farrier who has experience in all breeds and disciplines of horses. He has been self-employed full time shoeing horses for 23 years. Joey is a hands-on learner and he wants to teach the same way. He attended school at this same address under Danny Ward.
So, to retire from shoeing horses and come back to where he started is very rewarding. Joey loves what he does and wants to teach other people what he has learned from his dad and during his own career.
